35th Anniversary Party

In celebration of IPS' 35th anniversary, we recently invited our friends to our K street offices for good food, good beverages and good conversation. Take a look at our photo gallery.

First, visitors signed our guestbooks. Guests checked out the latest in stock from a variety of vendors. The vendors were informative and friendly and gave away some great samples. Old friends said hello and new friends got acquainted. There were spirited discussions and quiet discourses. People talked and people listened. Back Forty prepared fabulous food served outside in perfect weather. There were many delicious choices and many hearty appetites. A good time was had by all -- large and small.

Industry News

This section of our site keeps you up-to-date on changes in the printing and paper industry. Come back often for the latest in practical news on stock and related issues.

Stora Enso

Stora Enso, the new name for the Consolidated Paper Company, has made major changes to several of their most well known grades.

Centura, a Number 1 coated sheet, has seen a brightness shift from 89 to 96, a significant difference. A silk finish, a matte finish and a 130-pound cover are new to the line. These changes put Centura in direct competition with McCoy.

The brightness of Productolith has increased from 85 to 89, and there are two additions to the line: a 120 cover in dull and gloss.

There have been no price changes for either Centura or Productolith.

Coming soon: big changes in the IP text and cover grades. Some grades are expected to merge between Beckett, Strathmore and Hammermill. All felt finishes -- Grandee, RSVP, Americana, Pastelle -- will be eliminated in the near future.

Fox River

Crushed Leaf from Fox River now has sparkles in the sheet.
